HomeCareCrisis.org was created by people who believe that compassionate care at home is a vital service for New York’s seniors and people with disabilities. We believe that the greatest threat to the continued viability of home care in our state is the structure of the system itself. Too many taxpayer dollars are siphoned away in agency profits, excessive administrative fees and even fraud before they reach the clients and the workers who care for them.

Shadowy subcontracting practices in the home care industry not only waste resources, but also make it impossible for clients and their families to know who is really providing their care. HomeCareCrisis.org aims to shine a light on the problems resulting from this system, including poor patient care, worker exploitation, wasted resources and high rates of fraud.
